Updated app and it will not open

I just updated my iPad and also the app and now the app will not even open. The app itself is in a stage saying "waiting". Under the apple app I find it saying open but the app itself will not open. Even with rebooting my iPad several times this app is still telling me the same thing. I can not even delete it. SO FRUSTRATING!!
